Girls' JV Basketball 2011-2012 Season Recap
For the third consecutive season, the girls' JV basketball team ended the season with a winning record, including two victories over Peddie. The girls began the 2011-12 campaign with four consecutive wins before the competition stiffened in January. Nonetheless, a come-from-behind victory at Hill and a hard-fought win over North Warren, a local rival, were highlights from the second half of the season.

Captains Maiya Gibbs and Jessica Lowndes did an excellent job setting a positive tone for the team, emerging as excellent leaders. Meanwhile, Rachel Hoffman and Brooke Reynolds managed the ball handling duties and developed into solid on-court coaches as they guided the offense. A tireless worker, Casey Witte joined forces with Mallory Fahey, who frequently dropped down from varsity to join the team, to control the paint for the Bucs on both ends of the court.

Off the bench, Jessica Sabin emerged as the team's toughest rebounder and defender while Natalie Pearson played very well on the perimeter. Sophia Elghanayan and Alexis Bravakis provided scoring with their solid midrange shooting, and Grace Ewles shined in a February rematch with Peddie. As newcomers to the game, Yu Rong Lim and Callie Millard made a lot of progress over the course of the season and contributed to the positive team spirit on a daily basis.

Congratulations to the girls on a fine season!
