Students Pay Tribute to Victims and Heroes

At 8:47 a.m. on September 11, 2002 — first anniversary of the terrorist attacks on America and second day of classes in the new school year — bells pealed from Timken Library. Flags flew at half-mast, and the Blair community paused to remember the victims and heroes of that fateful day.

At the opening Convocation service later that evening, Nic Davin ’03 was chosen to speak to the student body by the senior class. Prayers, songs and speeches reflected the somber mood of the entire Blair community, followed by a candlelight vigil led by the Senior Class Council (despite the extinguished candles due to heavy winds).
