Blair Dancers Take to the Stage

The Blair Academy Dance Department, headed by Denise Alexander-Male, presented their fifth annual concert on February 28-March 1, 2003 in Armstrong-Hipkins Center for the Arts. Entitled “A Little Bit of This, A Touch of That,” the evening was geared to demonstrate the wide variety of dance techniques studied and explored during the students’ class and activities times.

The dancers ranged from beginners to experienced and the hard work they put in to their numbers was quite evident as they all took to the stage. Two of the performances were also choreographed by students Jamie Skuba, Carly Pearson and Sarah Pearson, and two Mambo numbers were choreographed by Ezio Pavone, who helped out with the activities dance students this year. One performance by senior dancers, “Hard to Say Goodbye,” was accompanied by the Blair Academy Tweeds singers. Throughout the evening, the audience was also treated to a few special performances by the Roxey Ballet Company, an official company of the Mill Ballet School in Lambertville, New Jersey.
