Fall Instrumental Concert Takes Stage
The Blair Academy Wind Symphony and String Orchestra performed their fall concert on Thursday, November 21, 2002 in the DuBois Theatre of Armstrong-Hipkins Center for the Arts.
Conducted by Dana Williams, the string orchestra performed Chorale Prelude arranged by Anne McGinty, Themes from The Moldau by Bedrich Smetana and Autumn from The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi. Following the string performance, the wind symphony played Russian Sailors Dance by Reinhold Gliere, In Heavens Air by Samuel R. Hazo and finished with El Capitan by John Philip Sousa.
Please come and enjoy the upcoming instrumental performances of the Blair Academy Wind Symphony and String Orchestra. The 2nd Annual Holiday Spectacular will be Thursday, December 12th, 2002 at 7:15 p.m. in the DuBois Theatre and there will be a Combined Concert with The George School Sunday, January 26th, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. in Newtown, PA.
