The 2nd Annual Holiday Spectacular

The Blair Academy Music Department presented its 2nd Annual Holiday Spectacular on Thursday, December 12th, 2002 in the DuBois Theatre of Armstrong-Hipkins Center for the Arts.

The string orchestra, conducted by Dana Williams, performed excerpts from “The Nutcracker” as well as the Welsh Carol, Suo Gan, and the traditional piece What Child is This? The Blair Academy Singers followed, conducted by Chris Eanes. Their pieces included Carol of the Bells, Ríu, Ríu, Chíu and Wassail. The Blair Academy Flute Ensemble performed the traditional carols Away in a Manger and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. And finally, the Blair Academy Wind Symphony, also conducted by Ms. Williams, performed Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson, Gesu Bambino by Pietro Yon and Holiday Cheer arranged by Paul Lavender. These wonderful pieces set the holiday mood for the entire audience.
