John Martin Takes a Look Back at the Vietnam War

John Martin, former Captain in the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War, spoke to Blair students and faculty on April 15, 2003 as part of the Society of Skeptics lecture series.

Martin traced his military career from a Texas farm family with a military tradition to Texas A&M’s ROTC to Ranger School and eventually to the battlefield of Vietnam. He called the members of his company heroes and felt they didn’t deserve having a good portion of America protesting the war. Martin also questioned our leadership in sending our boys to fight a conflict that perhaps we couldn’t win. Martin is proud of his service to our country which he did to the best of his ability.

John Martin is father to former Blair students Susan Martin ’99 and Sam Martin ’97.
