Dr. Peter Mandaville on 9/11 and Iraq
Dr. Peter Mandaville, Blair Class of 1990, spoke to students on Tuesday, October 8th as part of the Society of Skeptics lecture series.
Dr. Mandaville is Assistant Professor of Government and Politics at George Mason University, and was previously Lecturer in International Relations at the University of Kent at Canterbury in England. He is most recently the author of Transnational Muslim Politics and has also co-edited a volume of essays on non-Western approaches to international relations, The Zen of International Relations.
Dr. Mandaville posed many thought provoking questions and raised issues about going to war with Iraq and what effects such a war would have domestically and globally. After giving an overview of the history of our relationship with Iraq and other Arab countries and offering different scenarios of action by the U.S., he opened up the floor to questions and varied opinions from Blair students.
