Sports Reporter Mike Vacarro Speaks to Blair Students

Mike Vacarro, NY Post sports reporter, spoke to faculty and students on April 1, 2003 as part of the Society of Skeptics lecture series.

Vacarro made himself available for a long evening of questions from an enthusiastic audience. Some of the questions were: How does one become a sport journalist? Can one be an fan and still be an objective reporter? How do you make up those catchy headlines? Will the Knicks be a playoff team in the future? What about the Mets this year? Is George Steinbrenner truly a world class jerk? Students remained well after the hour period ended to ask more questions. It is no doubt that sports grab the attention of youngsters in a special way.
