West Hall Participates in Verizon’s HopeLine Program

Under the guidance of Housemaster Dana Williams, the West Hall girls will collect and donate wireless phones to Verizon Wireless’ HopeLine phone recycling program through the week of April 12. Collection sites are located in dorms around campus. According to Verizon’s Web site, “HopeLine is an exclusive program that uses wireless services and equipment to assist victims in emergency domestic violence situations.”

The Web site further explains, “HopeLine collects wireless phones that are no longer being used. The used phones are either refurbished and recycled or sold. With the funds raised from the sale of the refurbished phones, Verizon Wireless will purchase wireless phones and donate airtime to victims of domestic violence through human services and law enforcement agencies. The program also makes financial grants to regional and national domestic violence organizations, such as the Family Violence Prevention Fund, the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence and other select community interest groups.”

Anyone wishing to participate in this worthwhile program is invited to do so.
