Collagraph Collages in the Romano Gallery
Virginia Duetsch will exhibit Collagraph Collages in the Romano Gallery of the Armstrong-Hipkins Center for the Arts from October 5 to November 8, with an artists reception open to the public on Thursday, October 16, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Duetsch commented on the works in this show, which she calls Inner Landscapes, Threshold, Dimensions, and The Island Series. She said, These works, created from the reassembly of collagraph prints, which are produced using plates constructed from found materials and printed with oil-based inks, invite the viewers perception of what image the color, textures and shapes suggest. The artists statement, through use of landscape elements and organic forms, implies multi-layered dimensions and invites numerous perspectives. The viewer, then, is compelled to view the works and interpret meaning derived from his or her personal experience.
Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. For more information on this exhibit, please call Rita Baragona, chair of the fine arts department, at (908) 362-6121, ext. 5692.
