Consuelo Mack On Being an Anchorwoman
Consuelo Mack, CNBC anchorwoman and mother of Ranger Mack 06, spoke as part of the Society of Skeptics lecture series on February 10, 2004, in Cowan Auditorium.
Having joined CNBC in 1998 as part of the networks strategic alliance with Dow Jones, Consuelo Mack is one of the most accomplished women in business journalism. In addition to being CNBCs senior correspondent, she is also the anchor and managing editor of The Wall Street Journal Report which has won an Overseas Press Club Award and was nominated for an Emmy Award for Excellence in Background and Analysis.
Ms. Mack is the recipient of an Outstanding Young Women in America Award and a Media Award for Excellence in Advancing Financial Understanding. She was recently honored by the Womens Economic Round Table with their first Lifetime Achievement Award for Women in Print and Electronic Financial Journalism. Mack graduated from Sarah Lawrence College with a bachelors degree in English literature, history and political science.
Ms. Mack spoke to the Blair audience about her career in finance and her eventual move into television. She presented her interviews with Robert Redford, John C. Bogle, astronaut Buzz Aldrin and Craig Venter, the force behind the genome project. She spoke about the craft behind the interviews and her interest in these remarkable figures.
