Blair Academy Players Conjure Halloween Horrors

Just in time for Halloween, the Blair Academy Players presented “Little Shop of Horrors” on October 30 and 31, and November 1 at 8:00 p.m. in the DuBois Theatre of the Armstrong-Hipkins Center for the Arts. This spoof of 1950s sci-fi concerns a skid row flower shop that becomes an overnight sensation due to an exotic plant.

Finding the strange and mysterious plant was junior Hudson Taylor, who worked for junior Geof Weyl—Mr. Mushnick. Junior Molly McAdoo played his long-sought after and much abused love interest, Audrey. Senior Mike Spadaccini portrayed her sadistic dentist boyfriend. Junior Cameron Ward provided the voice of the plant, while senior Phil Mauriello worked the plant internally. The Doo-Wop girls, who acted as a musical Greek chorus on the horrifying proceedings, were juniors Grace Davis, Ariel Hidalgo and Kat Miller. Rounding out the cast were junior Jonathan Slawson and sophomore Meg Fry. Senior Clair Baxter directed the play.
