Anna Hay Finishes 17th Overall at Nationals

In June, Anna Hay ’04 finished fifth in the second heat and 17th overall at the Nationals in Raleigh, N.C. Despite temperatures of about 100 degrees on the track, she ran a school record for the 2 miles, beating the New Jersey Meet of Champions winner. Said Coach Marty Miller, “There is no doubt that the extreme heat slowed the runners in this section. All in all, it was a fine performance. Former cross country star Rem Reynolds ’88 (pictured) drove up from Atlanta to cheer her on. Anna also managed to register for classes and attend orientation at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she will begin her college education.”

According to Coach Miller, “Anna ends the year as a school record-holder at the 800, 1500, 1 mile, 3000m, 3200m, 2 mile, and anchor of the record-setting sprint medley relay.”
