Rita Baragona, chair of the fine arts department, reports on recent student accomplishments: Artwork by Benton Connor, Erik Wilburn and Lauren Weinstein are critics’ choice entries to the Warren County Teen Expo. Their work will also be exhibited in a statewide art show at The College of New Jersey.

Artwork by Hannah Kirpatrick was also reviewed for possible inclusion in the New Jersey Teen Arts poster-calendar. Along with Courtney Fairclough’s photograph of a barn reflected in a vase, artworks by Erik, Hannah and Lauren were chosen by judges to go to the 5th Congressional District jurying for “An Artistic Discovery: the Congressional Art Competition.” Erik’s painting (“Still Life with Chair”), which won first prize, will go on to the statewide competition and exhibition at the Bergen County Museum, where it will be displayed with three other artworks from other congressional districts. If Erik’s painting wins, it will go on to Washington, D.C., and be displayed in an exhibit of other works by teens from across the United States.
