Blair Students Recognized for Artistic Talents

“Life and Death,” a Plexiglas work by Chris Dodd ’06, will be included in a statewide show of artwork by high school students at the Morris Museum in Morristown, N.J., April 5 to June 12, with an artists’ reception on April 21 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The annual Fresh Perspectives exhibition began in 1989 to provide artistically accomplished high school students a professionally organized museum exhibition experience and to recognize art teachers for their encouragement and effective teaching of these talented student artists.

The 17th annual Fresh Perspectives juried exhibition will display outstanding artwork in all media produced by students during the 2004-2005 school year. This is a successful and highly anticipated exhibition for the Morris Museum and for participating students and teachers. According to a museum spokesperson, there is no other exhibition in any New Jersey museum that highlights the work of student artists to this capacity.

Two other Blair students were also recently recognized for their artistic accomplishments. Erik Wilburn ’06 and Doug Graupe ’05 won first and third prizes, respectively, in the Blairstown Business Association’s Winter Expo 2005 (high school division category).
