Instrumental Music Director Plays in Italian Orchestra

Dana Williams, instrumental music director at Blair, played French horn in Rome, Italy, for five weeks in the 33rd season of the Rome Festival under the direction of Fritz Maraffi. Dana said, “Only two days after landing in the ‘Eternal City,’ the Rome Festival Orchestra staged a production of Mozart’s ‘The Magic Flute.’ We performed a half dozen symphonic concerts, as well as Puccini’s opera, ‘La Boheme.’ When not playing outside in the sweltering heat, we saw the sights of Rome, including the Vatican, Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, and even Simon and Garfunkel’s free concert at the Coliseum!”
