Skeptics Speaker Delves into China
“China by Kirk” was the topic of the January 11 Society of Skeptics program, presented by JBKirk and Associates. Speaker John B. Kirk, known in China as a “China old hand,” has been working and living with Chinese in China since 1988. He has traveled extensively throughout the Mainland, has established numerous friendships with government, business and educational leaders at all levels, negotiated many successful contracts, and has gained intimate knowledge and understanding of the Chinese culture. Mr. Kirk answered the following questions:
- How do I get to China?
- When I arrive in China, what can I expect?
- What makes the Chinese tick?
- How does the China government work?
- What does China’s “Open Door Policy” mean?
- Where is China going?
- What does China’s emergence mean to me?
Mr. Kirk presented a mixture of anecdotal stories, a glimpse into the past, relevant facts about the present, and thought-provoking commentary.
