Open House Offers Slice of Life at Blair
The annual fall open house hosted by the admissions office was, once again, a success. The day-long event included a welcome by Headmaster Chan Hardwick, a “snapshot” of life at Blair presented by faculty members David Low, assistant headmaster for student affairs; Selden Bacon, dean of academics; David Vachris, dean of residential life, and Rachel Stone, dean of faculty.
Students also presented a snapshot of their own lives, covering such topics as academics, growth beyond the classroom, life outside the classroom, the first year at Blair, and growth through athletics and the arts. Participants were Samantha Peretore ’07, Stephen Anderson ’05, Christopher Jones ’06, Khia White ’07, Brad Weiss ’05 and Vanessa Black ’05. Dean of Admissions Barbara Haase presented a timeline of the admissions process as well. Campus tours and the opportunity to watch athletics competitions were also available. The Blair Academy Singers and String Orchestra entertained during the course of the day.
