Blair Wrestling Pins Down Hunger

Blair wrestlers raised money for the Community Food Pantry of Blairstown as they won their 25th consecutive National Prep Championship title on February 25 and 26, 2005, at Lehigh University. The team members solicited per pin pledges from faculty, staff, students, family and local businesses. Each pledge will be multiplied by the 39 total pins that the team received during the tournament.

In the past, the wrestling team has collected over $2,500 with their Pin Down Hunger campaign. The Community Food Pantry is a local organization that is composed of four local churches: St. Jude Church, Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, The First Presbyterian Church of Blairstown, and the Blairstown United Methodist Church. The Community Food Pantry operates year-round and sees to the needs of the residents of Blairstown and surrounding areas.
