Andrew Samuel a Finalist for Morehead Scholarship
Andrew Samuel 05 has been selected as a finalist in the prestigious Morehead Scholarship Competition. In March, he and 111 other finalists from the United States, Great Britain and North Carolina will spend four days on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There they will have the opportunity to learn about the University and the Morehead Program, visit classes and be interviewed by the Morehead Central Selection Committee. Approximately 40 of these finalists will receive the Morehead.
A Morehead Scholarship provides a four-year undergraduate scholarship to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Scholars also receive tuition, books, room and board and a laptop computer, along with a stipend for spending money each semester. According to their Web site, Moreheads enjoy close relationships with some of the worlds greatest scholars... Perhaps most important, the Morehead is designed to help every Scholar discover the very best he or she has to offer.
Emmanuel Bello 04 was the first Blair student ever to win the prestigious Morehead Scholarship. He is a freshman at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
