Gun Control Was Topic of February 1 Skeptics
John E. Shanks, director, law enforcement relations, for the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, along with Ken McGuire, a former East Orange (N.J.) police officer shot by drug dealers, spoke out on “The Argument for Gun Control” Tuesday, February 1, in Cowan Auditorium as part of the Society of Skeptics program. On March 30, 1981, Jim Brady, press secretary to President Ronald Reagan, was shot and seriously wounded during an assassination attempt on the President. The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence hopes to educate the public about gun violence and mobilize support for sensible gun laws.
