Art: In the Air and Everywhere
The third Spring Arts Weekend was a tremendous success. Craig Evans, chair of the performing arts department, described the event as a time when “families of artists – and non-artists – get to see our students’ work in the fine and performing arts and visit our studios, theatres and art classrooms. Certainly we are proud to have the opportunity for our kids ‘to show their stuff’ in painting, ceramics, photography, film, architecture, singing, dancing, instrumental music and acting. While many of our students are introduced to the arts through their classes or their afternoon activity commitment, many come to Blair hoping to hone their skills for college and perhaps a professional career beyond. In essence, we see more and more students pursuing the arts in the studios and on the stage for avocation and vocation.”
